Axel Salzmann has a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Hamburg. He held various offices with the Philips Group from 1987 to 2001. In 1994 he was appointed CFO and Head of HR of a home appliance subsidiary, Philips Elektro Hausgeräte. From 1996 to 2001 he was Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Head of IT at Philips Medical Systems Germany and Eastern Europe. From 2002 to 2007 he was CFO and Vice-CEO at O2 Germany. Since June 2008, he has been CFO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG.
