Cookie

A cookie is a small text file sent by Web servers when visiting a webpage and is temporarily stored on a given user’s hard drive. If the corresponding server is accessed again at a later point in time, the user’s browser sends the previously received cookie back to the server. The server can then analyze the information obtained by this procedure in various ways. For examples, using cookies one can control advertising pop-ups or simplify navigation on a given webpage.
