CANAL+ Secures Nordic Rights To Broadcast Prestigious English F.A. Premier League For Three More Seasons In Cooperation With Telenor Broadcast And Canal Digital

Stockholm/Oslo, November 15, 2006 – C More Entertainment AB, which operates the Nordic premium Pay television service CANAL+, and Telenor Broadcast Holding AS, which owns Nordic satellite operator Canal Digital AS, announced that the F.A. Premier League has accepted their joint bid to secure the exclusive rights to broadcast the English F.A. Premier League in the Nordic region for the next three seasons. The new agreement enables CANAL+ to continue its exclusive and live broadcasts of Premier League football matches during the upcoming seasons 2007/2008, 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 on Canal Digital’s Direct-to-Home satellite platform.

The Premier League has been broadcast exclusively on the CANAL+ channels since 1997. Under the new agreement all live matches will be available exclusively on CANAL+ in the Nordic region over the next three seasons, starting with the 2007/2008 football season. The F.A. Premier League is the most popular international football league in the world, and has an especially strong and loyal following in the Nordic countries.
