The Voice 06 Concerts Attract 130.000 Visitors In The Nordic Region

Luxembourg, September 21, 2006 – The Voice TV, the 24/7 digital music services network of SBS Broadcasting Group, has completed its popular live summer concert series The Voice 06, which attracted 130.000 visitors altogether in the Nordic countries. Following the successful formula of The Voice 05, the four live concerts featured the most popular local acts hosted by local VJs, totaling 52 band performances, 16 hours of live music and 11 hours of non-stop television coverage on Kanal 5 (Sweden and Denmark), TV Norge (Norway) and the The Voice TV services, attracting approximately one million viewers in total.

The Voice 06 kicked off in the “Kungstädgården” in Stockholm with live performances from the biggest local acts like Darin, Petter, Marie Serneholt as well as Outlandish, one of the best selling Nordic stars, and US-acts such as T-Pain and Eamon, attracting a record audience of 50.000. A day later, The Voice 06 took place in the famous “Tivoli” in Copenhagen, featuring local stars like Nik & Jay and L.O.C., Nordic acts like Basshunter, who received a gold record at the event for their single “Botton Anna”, and top US-acts such as Eamon and Stacie Orrico, who sold two million copies of their last album. This concert also attracted a record 50.000 visitors – no other Tivoli event has had that many visitors so far in 2006.

The second weekend took The Voice 06 to the national football stadium “Ullevål” in Oslo and presented top local acts like Holm, Fuentes, Lind & Nielsen, Lilyjets and Paperboys as well as Nordic acts like Outlandish and Darin, and international stars such as Shanye Ward and Nerina Pallot. The Voice 06 completed its tour at the “Kaisanemi Park” in Helsinki, where audiences saw an impressive line-up of local rock stars like Apulanta, Negative, Zen Café and the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest winner Lordi.
