German TV network ProSiebenSat.1 Welt to add Cable Distribution in the US

ProSiebenSat.1 Welt signs contracts with International Networks
US pay channel attracts more than 12,000 subscribers in its first year

Munich, February 9, 2006. ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG’s international German-language channel, ProSiebenSat.1 Welt, will be available on cable in the United States. The pay channel has successfully completed a representation and marketing partnership with International Networks, LLC. International Networks specializes in the sales and marketing of original foreign program content to cable and telecommunication network operators. ProSiebenSat.1 Welt is International Network’s first German-language channel.

Nearly one year after its successful launch on DISH Network’s satellite platform in the US, in February 2005, ProSiebenSat.1 Welt has signed on more than 12,000 subscribers. Up to now, the pay channel was only available via satellite platform Dish Networks. The cooperation with International Networks will allow ProSiebenSat.1 Welt to aggressively add on new forms of distribution and make the channel available to customers who receive TV via cable and DSL. Approximately two-thirds of all US-television households receive TV via cable.

Jan Frouman, Managing Director of ProSiebenSat.1 Welt: “At launch, we had planned to have 10,000 subscribers by the end of our first year. We are pleased to have achieved this goal after 10 months, and believe that our partnership with International Networks will be a key component of our ongoing growth strategy.”

Scott Wheeler, Senior Vice President of Network Development at International Networks: “We seek out the highest quality television channels from around the world for cable subscribers in the US. We are happy that we are now able to market high-quality German-language programming.”
