SevenGames Launched in Netherlands

The ProSiebenSat.1 Group continues to move ahead with the internationalization of its Games operations. The latest step is the launch a few days ago of the Dutch analog of the German games portal www.SevenGames.de. The addition has put the ProSiebenSat.1 games brand online in a fourth European market – besides Germany and the Netherlands, local versions are already available in Sweden and Norway. The next major step in Europe is planned for mid-July, when SevenGames will be launched in Belgium. And Hungarian game fans will also be able to play at SevenGames.hu by year’s end.

In all these countries, users get no-charge, browser-based multi-player games, most of which are played in the national language. There are also games on demand, which can be played any time for a fee. Games from the “Buy & Download” shop can be downloaded to the user’s own computer.

ProSiebenSat.1’s original games platform was launched in Germany in 2006, with Sat1Spiele.de – a site intended primarily for women users. The second games platform came in 2007, with SevenGames.de, which is aimed at a public of male users who play regularly – what are known as core gamers. About two million unique users, and more than 250,000 newly registered users, take advantage of ProSiebenSat.1’s games service each month. The Group’s games operations are a part of multimedia subsidiary SevenOne Intermedia, which embraces all the Group’s diversification activities whose revenues are generated outside the conventional TV advertising market.
