PSM is the stock-exchange symbol for the first television stock issued in Germany. The company known today as ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG was founded in 2000. But by then its forerunner, ProSieben Media AG, had already been in the capital market for some time. ProSieben Media AG went public on July 7, 1997 – the first German television company to be listed on a stock exchange.

A few months later, in March 1998, ProSieben Media AG became the first media stock to be included in the MDAX. Then in October 2000 the merger of Sat.1 and ProSieben Media AG took place. Since that time, Sat.1, ProSieben, Kabel 1 and N24, together with all their subsidiaries and affiliates, have been known under the corporate name of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG.

In April 2004, ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG carried out a capital increase. The capital increase expanded the share capital from EUR 194,486,400 to EUR 218,797,200, an increase of EUR 24,310,800. The capital increase brought in gross proceeds of roughly EUR 282 million for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.
