How much will a person risk for freedom? What if Germany were divided again? And how will people survive after a reactor meltdown? These are questions that challenge our society. With its own film productions, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group turns them into dramatic evening entertainment, while regularly giving millions of people cause for reflection. Well-made specials on various topics round out the television event offerings. Thus, the ProSieben film "Go West" followed three young people as they attempted to flee East Germany. Following the movie, the TV magazine Galileo showed how refugees actually escaped. The SAT.1 film "The Border" looked at how extremists could split the country. In a "Kerner Special," the actors Marie Bäumer and Jürgen Heinrich then spoke with constitutional expert Ulrich Battis and a former neonazi about the real dangers of extremism. After the SAT.1 film "Residual Risk" about a nuclear accident there was likewise an edutainment feature, in the form of a documentary examining how well Germany is prepared for a catastrophe of that nature.
