The art of surviving as a child

Kanal 4’s four-part documentary “Kunsten at overleve som barn” calls attention to kids and their concerns, big and small.

Julie doesn't have it easy. Her mother suffered from depression for four years after she was born. Now the little girl and her mother have moved to a new home, and she's having a hard time finding new friends.

Little folks like Julie can sometimes have big worries. In its documentary ("The Art of Surviving as a Child"), Denmark's Kanal 4 focuses on four kids who have to cope with misunderstanding, isolation, disabilities and poverty.

"Kunsten at overleve som barn" was partly financed with public funding from the Danish government, which is supporting the development and production of Danish TV documentaries that call attention to social problems or teach significant values.
