Radio 1 is the number one hit music station in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger. The Radio 1 network plays the best Pop and Rock music, both contemporary and classic hits. Radio 1 features both top international artists and Norway's hottest talents. The four Radio 1 stations are locally operated and all follow the winning concept of combining great music with local and national promotions. Radio 1 is aiming to entertain the listeners with the best music and the greatest shows, while providing local traffic updates, weather and news. Radio 1 has also, during the years, executed campaigns and events, some of which have never been done in Norway before, e.g. “The Fugitive”, “Radio 1’s Rollercoaster Championship” and “Mystery Voices”.

Radio 1 is the leading locally operated radio network and the second largest commercial radio operation in Norway, with local stations in the main cities: Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger. The network targets urban audiences between 18-34 years of age. In May 2008, the Storbyradioen-network (Radio 1 and Voice Radio) had a weekly reach of 965 000 listeners (TNS Gallup, Infosys Radio). Radio 1 started broadcasting in 1984 and is the oldest commercial radio station in Norway.
