TV2 (Hungary)


TV2 established itself as Hungary's second largest nationwide commercial television station. The success of TV2 is based on broadcasting U.S.-produced programs in Hungarian, including "Desperate Housewives", " House M.D.", “NCIS” and "Ghost Whisperer". Locally produced programming such as news (“Facts”) and infotainments (“Magellan”, “Aktiv Extra”, “Diary”), daily series (For Better for Worse) and Hungarian versions of compelling shows like “Mr and Mrs – Star Couple Show”, “Celebrity perfect dinner (Fish on the Cake)”, and “Megastar” complement the international content. With respect to TV2’s advertising strategy, the station offers enhanced marketing opportunities by BRANDcare solutions on-screen.

Facts & Figures

TV2 reaches 96.9 percent of the Hungarian households via terrestrial, cable and satellite distribution. The channel predominantly targets viewers between 18-49. In 2009, TV2 had a market share of 19,2 percent within its commercial target group in Hungary (Source: AGB Nielsen). TV2 was launched in October 1997 as Hungary's first commercial broadcasting station, quickly becoming the market leader. In 2008, TV2 underwent a successful relaunch and to this day continues to make its mark as a highly popular TV channel within the Hungarian media landscape.
