Deutsches Wetter Fernsehen (DWF), the only 24-hour weather channel in German television, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wetter.com AG, in which SevenOne Intermedia, the multimedia company of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, holds a majority interest of 73%.
Deutsches Wetter Fernsehen has been on the air since October 2004. The 24-hour channel is devoted exclusively to weather and climate change. The program is thematically organized, with segments on the current weather situation and outlook, a detailed look at the weather in Germany, a travel forecast, health impacts and weekend weather. A regional weather report is updated and rebroadcast every ten minutes. Also, the channel regularly features “Weather Specials” on tornados, droughts, severe storms and other weather events.
DWF can also be received on mobile phones as a 24-hour live streaming program via UMTS.
