Kanal 4 (Denmark)

Kanal 4 is the first fully fledged women's channel in Denmark. Combining a mix of Danish productions with international quality programming, the objective is to create a female channel which features both entertainment and in-depth programming. True to its claim, Kanal 4 is a TV channel devoid of football and male locker-room talk. Instead, it brings viewers carefully selected, high-quality documentaries and factual entertainment from distributors such as Channel 4, Granada Media, BBC Worldwide and RDF. The channel also features blockbuster movies and timeless series like "Grey's Anatomy", "The Gilmore Girls", "Brothers & Sisters" and "Ghost Whisperer". For general entertainment, there are talk shows like "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and up-and-coming "Rachael Ray", lifestyle programs such as "10 Years Younger" and "What not to Wear" as well as a culinary show featuring Jamie Oliver. In short, programming that appeals to a female target audience.
