VT4 (Belgium)


VT4 is a commercial TV station in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium. It made its mark by being the first station to introduce popular U.S. series such as “Friends” and “The Simpsons” to its audience, but has also introduced the ‘Crime Night’, with crime-investigation series such as “CSI” and “NCIS”. VT4’s programming strategy combines local Flemish productions with international series and blockbuster movies. To ensure high-quality entertainment, major content suppliers include Disney, Warner, Dreamworks, CBS Paramount, MGM, New Regency, Dutch Filmworks & Sony. VT4 has also become a trendsetter with a various number of local productions. Due to its compelling programming, VT4 has been going from strength to strength each year since its launch. In 2009, VT4 launched Good Deal. This concept was created to give advertisers the opportunity to offer their promotions in an exclusive area. In its first phase, Good Deal started on television, online and with partnerships in print, but this concept can also be applied on other platforms.

VT4 aims at the Flemish (i.e. Dutch-speaking) population in Belgium, representing approximately 600f the total population. The channel is distributed via cable, satellite and digital way and has a 97% reach in Flanders. The core target audience of VT4 is between 15-44 years of age. In 2009 (Jan-Sept), VT4 had a market share of 11,2% within its commercial target group in Belgium (Source: CIM Audimetrie-MMW). The TV station was launched in 1995 and broadcasted under a British license from the UK. In March 2002, VT4 became a Flemish station carrying a Flemish license.
